Installations of the Stabiloc System

The STABILOC system consists of the STABILOCLock Body, a STABILOC Receiver which is attached to the underside of themanhole cover, Custom Socket which is used to tighten and loosen the STABILOCbolt, a tamper evident UV resistant cap - which keeps the bolt-head free from dirt and debris.

Modification of the manhole cover isrequired in order to receive the STABILOC locking system. There is norequirement to modify the manhole frame. Most authorities/cities/facilitieshave a number of "spare" covers in their stock depot because manholecovers are routinely stolen. Most customers choose to implement a "rip andreplace" system whereby covers are taken from existing stock, machined andthen exchanged. Repeat this process and develop a time line by which to installthe system. An aggressive implementation schedule can realistically install acomplete network (200+ Covers) in approx. six weeks.

We recommend that two STABILOC units areneeded for each cover. Units secured to opposite sides of the manhole coverhave proven to be the strongest method of securing the covers to theframes.If you have a hinged cover, onlyone STABILOC is required.
